The Guiness World Record Story

Toothpick City II should beat the Guiness world record for largest toothpick structure in the world. Stan came close to beating the record with Toothpick City I, but literally days before the paperwork was to be sent in, another toothpick sculptor took the title with a solid toothpick alligator containing 3 million FLAT toothpicks (about a third the size of a regular
toothpick). When Stan told the people at Guiness that his buildings were all hollow, Guiness said, "then fill em up with toothpicks!" to which Stan replied, "but that's the whole point of toothpick engineering." The buildings remained hollow, and so did his dream for a world record when the exhibit sold to a museum in Spain.

Now he starts over. Toothpick City II is almost to the size of the first Toothpick City, but with less than a year left, will the other toothpick sculptor just keep adding to his alligator?... Will someone even crazier than that just glue a giant glob of toothpicks together??

"I know it's going to be the largest toothpick structure in the world," Stan said shrugging his shoulders. "The rest is just politics."
